Search with a clear plan
Search by job title, skill, employer or town. Refine results by location, schedule, experience and education where those filters are available. Read the whole vacancy rather than relying on the title alone.
- Prepare a simple CV with current contact details and relevant skills.
- Check the employer name, workplace, responsibilities and expected schedule.
- Ask about pay, working hours, contract type and the application process before accepting an offer.
- Keep a note of the vacancy URL and any application messages.
Warning signs in a job offer
Be careful when a recruiter guarantees a job immediately, uses pressure to prevent questions, asks for your Mobile Money PIN, requests a payment to unlock a guaranteed role or offers terms that are unclear. A listing platform cannot guarantee that every vacancy is genuine; you should independently check the employer and opportunity.
Contact employers professionally
Use a short message that identifies the role, summarises your relevant experience and asks about the next step. Never send account passwords, one-time security codes or unnecessary sensitive documents in an initial enquiry. Share personal information only when you have a legitimate reason and trust the recipient.
Employers can publish vacancies too
Employers should use the dedicated job-posting form, provide accurate company and role information, disclose salary details where possible and keep the vacancy up to date. Do not publish a job vacancy as an ordinary product advert.
